Those most likely to cheat...
People cheat. A lot. The number who people who have extramarital affairs is thought to be 25% of men and 15% of women. Among both men and women, personality and self-esteem are major factors. Men with high self-esteem are more likely to cheat, yet women with low self-esteem are more likely to cheat. Very attractive women cheat more often, too.
Psychologist David Schmidt at Bradley University compiled the following list of the personality factors that can lead to cheating. Red flags:
Extroversion. People who are very extroverted are more likely to be sensation-seeking and assertive and are more likely to be driven to satisfy their sexual desires.
Emotional stability. People who are less emotionally stable are more likely to cheat, possibly because they question the durability of their current relationships.
Openness. People who are open-minded cheat more often. They are more willing to try new things and are tuned in to their inner desires.
Agreeableness. People are not agreeable are prone to cheating because they care less about hurting their partners.
Conscientiousness. People who are less conscientious cheat more often. They are unable to control their impulses and care little about morals.
Lots of people cheat, but most people DON'T cheat. Besides personality trains (see red flags above), most people cheat because their current relationships have gone sour. 1. Talk. Talk to your partner openly and often.
2. Do it. You know, it. Have sex more often. As often as you can!
3. Change things up in the bedroom. Keep things interesting.
4. Do new and exciting things together. Go to an amusement park and ride the scariest rides.
